Lobby Re-design

The Boulevard lobby is the hub or base of interaction for the app and I wanted to put users into a fresh space with improved visual and spatial layout. I also employed the Lobby to introduce VR Teleportation and to showcase my diegetic U.I. theme to eleminate visual tension and to provide intuitive interaction with the lobbys critical elements.

The new lobby incorporates open spaces that invite exploration. The scale and volume of the spaces were designed in VR for maximum comfort. The minimalist design theme is apropriated intentionally to reduce visual competition with points of interest and interactive objects. The lighting was composed to draw intrest to important locations while the tonal ranges sooth visually and provide contrast with the vivid artworks and U.I. prompts.

Final Design, Development and Delivery

These screen captures from Unreal 4 are of my final design layout of the exterior of the Boulevard Lobby. The Maya and Unreal 4 captures illustrate the iterative steps in the development.
The Boulevard VR experience begins at the exterior entrance to the Lobby. This screencapture shows the final Unreal 4 layout with teleportation targets and all interactive objects and points of interest in place.
